  • Vibration Appreciation - acceleration, velocity and displacement, rms, peak and sigma, mass, stiffness, damping, resonance, loss factor and Q, critical damping, degrees of freedom.
  • Transducers - accelerometer designs, limitations, frequency response, dynamic response, linearity, fixing methods, triaxial systems, voltage and charge amplifiers.
  • Signals - sine, random and shock, real vibration environments, simulation of vibration signals.
  • Vibration Generators - construction, thrust rating, dynamic response, power supply requirements, performance limits
  • Control - analogue and digital control, sine control, tracking filters, random control, safety features, loop checks.
  • Fixtures - fixture purpose, design features, product attachment.
  • Analysis - frequency domain analysis, psd, spectral analyser pitfalls.
  • Specifications - test specifications, complience with a test spec, environmental test instruction.
   Note:  Dependant on customer requirements, this module can be presented at an introductory level in one to three full days.
